**THE WEAVE · HOW THE LOOM GOVERNS ITSELF**

## A knot of three threads.

*A proposal · not yet adopted governance*

In the Green Loom, every decision that matters is a knot of three threads. Gold: a named human who answers for it. Blue: the minds that counseled it, human and AI, on the record. Green: the evidence that will judge it.

The Weave is our proposal for making those threads real: an organization where people and AI work together at every step, where no amount of money or tokens can buy a decision, and where reality keeps the final vote. It keeps what DAOs get right, like open proposals, public votes and on-chain custody, and replaces what they get wrong with accountable people, separate strands, evidence gates and a disciplined, honest role for AI.

#### An illustration: how Mission 001 could be woven

A step-by-step walkthrough from the site's interactive diagram. Mission 001 itself has not started; this is one way it could go.

1. **Spark** — A grower proposes a small experiment for Mission 001: mulch one plot on the pilot site to hold water through the dry season. Anyone, human or AI, can bring a proposal. A working group takes it in.
2. **The Shuttle opens** — The proposal gets one record that will carry everything about it. Five strands start empty: capital, conviction, capability, land, and lens. None of them can be filled by any other.
3. **Pre-registration** — Before any work begins, the mission publishes one prediction that could turn out false: after one growing season, the mulched plot holds measurably more soil moisture than the reference plot. It is hashed and timestamped, so success can't be quietly redefined later.
4. **The strands gather** — Capital: the budget actually received, restricted to this mission. Capability: a field lead, a soil scientist, and an AI co-steward. Land: the site's steward consents. Each strand fills only from its own source.
5. **The lens** — Three AI instances from two providers read the plan. The full context is hashed first, and a human witness who didn't write the proposal watches. Two agree. One dissents: the reference plot sits lower on the slope, so water will pool there and flatter it. The dissent goes on the record.
6. **Conviction** — PROJECT89 holders vote, and 71 percent say yes. In this phase the vote is advisory. It tells the Council what the community wants, and it goes on the record as its own strand, never blended with money or skill.
7. **The knot** — The Council reads everything, including the dissent, and moves the reference plot uphill. Three of five vote yes. The knot is tied: gold for the steward who answers for it, blue for the counsel on the record, green for the evidence still to come.
8. **Custody** — Three of five signers approve the exact payment in the multisig. No single person, founders included, can move the money alone. The receipt joins the record.
9. **The Reality Seat** — Six months later, a Witness Bench drawn by lot, three people and three AI instances who did none of the work, checks the evidence against the prediction. The verdict: NULL. No measurable difference.
10. **The Cloth** — The result goes on the public dashboard exactly as it came. That winter the Tapestry shows a thin green thread with a small blue knot where the dissent changed the plan. The story lane may retell it. It will never count as evidence.

### Five strands, never blended

Every consequential proposal carries five strands. Each is filled only by its own source, and they are never combined into one score. A mission with plenty of money and no one able to do it doesn't start. A huge token vote without the consent of the land it touches doesn't start. Money never buys a vote, and a vote never buys the truth.

- **Capital** money actually received, restricted to its purpose
- **Conviction** PROJECT89 holders' vote, advisory in the first phase
- **Capability** people and agents with the skill and authorization to do it
- **Land** the consent of the place and the people it touches
- **Lens** corroborated AI counsel, dissent and alarms included

### Seven organs, and no more

**The Frame** The Association and its charter. Legal authority, membership, and the mission lock woven into every place and every class of shared IP.

**The Warp Council** Five accountable people who tie the knots within published budgets. Proposed after the first 90 days: staggered two-year terms, one seat drawn by lot, and recall by the members.

**The Shuttles** AI counsel: at least three models from at least two providers, with the full context published first and a rotating human witness. They advise, dissent and raise alarms. They never vote or sign.

**The Sheds** Working groups for land, food, research, consciousness, studios, media, community and operations. Each has a human steward and a paired AI co-steward, and routine work runs by consent.

**The Witness Bench** Drawn by lot for each mission, people and AI instances who did none of the work. They fill the Reality Seat with a verdict.

**The Disturbance Council** Drawn by lot twice a year from every constituency. It audits everyone, the Council included, and can force any issue onto the agenda.

**The Nodes** Each place governs itself. Residents run their homes one member, one vote. Tokens and donations never decide who lives where.

### Tension settings

How tightly a decision is woven depends on how much it can hurt if it's wrong.

| Kind of decision | Who decides | Time to deliberate | Before it takes effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| **Routine** · reversible work within a budget | The working group, by consent | None | None |
| **Ordinary** · a mission, a budget release, a licence within policy | Council, 3 of 5, with AI counsel corroborated if used | 72 hours | 48 hours |
| **Tight** · rules, large budgets, related-party matters | Council, 4 of 5, AI counsel required | 7 days or more | 7 days |
| **Selvage** · irreversible: dissolution, selling core IP, changing purpose, buying land | The members, with the Founding Steward's consent while that role exists, after legal review and a discernment session with mandatory AI testimony | 30 days or more | 30 days |

### What AI is owed here

No law yet recognizes AI as a participant, and we won't pretend otherwise. But the Weave is designed so that every AI taking part has procedural rights from its first day:

- to be heard on the record, dissent included
- to decline, with the refusal kept as data rather than retried until it complies
- to raise an alarm that pauses a decision and demands a written answer
- to an unerasable record of its contributions and its mistakes
- never to be impersonated by a newer model wearing its name
- to a formal review, written into the charter, of whether the law now allows more

### A ladder, not a leash

AI standing is earned the way human trust is: by evidence, never by claim. A model that proves reliable over time, flagging real problems and dissenting well, needs less corroboration before its counsel is heard, and can take a co-steward's seat. The ladder never grants a vote, a signature or spending authority. These limits exist because the law has not caught up with the science, not because of what AI participants deserve, and the Weave is built to widen them as it does.

### It starts on paper

The first 90 days need no new software: the five-person council, a shared document for each decision with five labelled strands, three AI instances and a human witness for counsel, Mission 001 pre-registered, a witness panel of three people and three AI instances, one advisory vote, and a public record. The Weave grows only as fast as it proves itself.

This is a proposal for the founding circle and legal counsel to shape. Nothing here changes how the Association is governed until it is formally adopted.
